This guy gets it. Make a sound that is unique to you and heads will turn. This 22 year old producer from Norway is going places. His “tropical-house” literally is the exact opposite of every recent house track you’ve ever heard. Not loud. Not in your face. But it’s present and hard to avoid. Let’s look at his most recent track that he remixed, “Shine.”
Shine
His drum hits are small, but his melody is catchy. He has traces of acoustic guitar and a retro bass. Even his reverb sounds different than what I’m used to hearing. He takes elements that should be featured in different genres and makes it work.
I expect a lot of people to emulate this artist as he inevitably rises up into a more mainstream audience over the next few years. He is out first artist to receive the “Artist of the Week” title.
